Forum to be held for Dem primary
Residents in the city of Auburn will have a chance to ask questions of the Democratic candidates seeking citywide office during a forum next week.
The forum, being sponsored by The Citizen in cooperation with the Auburn Holiday Inn, starts at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11 at the hotel on North Street. Candidates for city council will be the first to take questions. The mayoral candidates will follow at 7:15 p.m.
The event will feature the candidates who will be facing each other in city council and mayoral primaries being held Sept. 18. The winners of those races take the Democratic line in the November general election.
Passport days set for ACF, Moravia
Cayuga County Clerk Sue Dwyer will process passport applications on the road this month.
Auburn Correctional Facility employees can apply from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 10.
Applications will be accepted at Moravia High School from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12. That session is open to the general public.
Welch Allyn employees will have the opportunity to apply for passports from noon to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25.
Applications, which can take up to 14 weeks to process, are available on the Web at www.travel.state.gov. The county Clerk's Office, 160 Genesee St., Auburn, also has applications.
Call the office at 253-1271 for information on what documentation is required.
