Surprise! Mr. Chick didn't wake up one morning and say “Gee, I think I'll take the boiler out of the BOE building today.” The government tried to protect some people, but I see we have a smart judge.
What is up with the ads to continue the war. Are we so ignorant as a people we have to be told what to think?

Jump on the BASSwagon. Mike Bass for DA.

Two thumbs up for the Auburn Maroons football team.

If Cayuga County is the ninth highest-taxed county in the USA, it seems like we need tax relief and to find out who's pocketing our money. And we'd still like to know in the town of Owasco, the names of the people who are guilty with the investigation that's going on.

I think The Citizen should do an update on the new veteran's memorial park in Auburn or have we forgot all about our veterans who fought for this country?

I strongly agree with the statement in the Sept. 3 issue of your paper about the city of Auburn purchasing hybrid foreign vehicles. It makes me sick to think about it.

The public announcer for Auburn Maroons needs to either stay home or try to learn the names of all the players involved in the game. As parents we were very disappointed not all the names were mentioned.

I think the (city of Auburn) planning department needs a makeover anyway. Cynthia Aikman sounds bitter, like wishing the mayor and his supporters luck in attracting good paying jobs in Auburn.

William Seward, I'm sure, wouldn't be happy with South Street today. The horrible truck traffic and the two aging and noisy manhole covers in front of his house would probably drive him nuts.

Where was/is the coverage by The Citizen for the poor Meridian Fire Department? Doesn't the paper care that the Meridian residents may lose their 104-year-old volunteer fire department?

Three cheers for our volunteers! Thank you for keeping us safe during the Highland fire, and we hope that Highland can rebuild their landmark soon.

Congratulations to the Moravia group responsible for the outside of the school, the memory garden and the beautiful flowers. They deserve kudos.

Criticizing George Bush is one thing, hating him is another. Where did Mr. Lynch ever state he hated George Bush?

The social security system is struggling in part because of abuse of the system. The paper should periodically publish a number where abuse could be reported.

Our county legislators should be representing the people of the Catskills. They should put the casino here to generate jobs and money.

Has anyone seen any fireflies this summer or are they a victim of global warming also?

Sports fans, if every manager who lost games stepped aside, who would manage? How about Mariners games on Sept. 5 - kudos, Yankees.

Hey, nice “patch job” on Perrine Street, wonder how long it will last? Hmm, maybe one week.

Maybe the Auburn school board could check into the Alliance Stadium in Syracuse. They are pulling up their turf, so maybe Auburn could get it.

Any man who actively participates in sports regularly is able-bodied enough to work for a pay check, instead of relying on a government he despises to support him.

Let's end the current mode of administration injustice. Vote Mike Bass for DA.

" Nice try mayharuka, but I know better! George Bush's Global Warming killed all fireflies this year. I only hope its not too late for Hillary to bring them back. Hemroids and crotch-rot are also much worse this year due to Global Warming! Hillary will cure crotch-rot with biofuel! Can't wait 'til '08. ;D "

" Holy Smokes those of you that are happy on the BA$$ Wagon we'll sent you a sympathy card when the race is over the only administrative injustice would be if Ba$$ were to win but that is a snowballs chance of you know where of not happening, the character and integrity of both candidates are quite obvious of who the only choice for our next DA to be. OoOh a clue for you = it's most probable NOT your man BA$$WAGON!!! "

" Fireflies typically come out late spring/early summer to mid- to late summer (about late May, to late July). Sometimes they are around longer - I've seen them in September, although there were fewer. Some species thrive in very arid regions, but most need a region that is warm and humid. Global warming isn't very likely to contribute to their decrease, but the lack of rainfall here is probably the biggest factor. If there is increasing pollution at their breeding grounds (adults stay near the eggs and larvae), that could cause their numbers to dwindle. "

" It isn't a matter of the judge in Chicks case being smart. He is investigating. Decaro admitted he told Chick not to disturb it and then brought it to Fearon's attention. Doesn't take to much smarts to see that in that statement Chick was TOLD not to disturb it. That means don't touch to most kids. "
