Stomp grapes like ‘I Love Lucy' did
The second annual Grape Stomping Festival will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 8 and 9, at Cobblestone Farm Winery and Vineyard, 5102 State Route 89, Romulus.
Visitors are encouraged to take off their shoes and roll up their pants to participate in a “I Love Lucy” look and stomp-alike contest. The two-day event will also feature wine tasting, music, food, arts and crafts and hay rides. Music will be provided by The Destination on Saturday and The Works on Sunday.

Chicken barbecue being held Saturday
Trinity United Church of Christ will hold a chicken barbecue at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, at the church, 163 Cayuga St., Union Springs. Meals will include chicken, salt potatoes, baked beans and a roll.
A chicken-half meal is $4 and a full meal is $6. The barbecue is sponsored by the Union Springs Lions Club and supports the Union Springs Volunteer Fire Department.

Meals on Wheels holding raffle
Auburn's Meals on Wheels is holding a 50-50 raffle with a prize of up to $5,000. All proceeds benefit community members who need help with their nutrition. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased from various vendors in the community including: Cervo's News, Cases Unlimited, D & L Truck Stop or at the Meals on Wheels kitchen, 8 Hulbert St., Auburn. Any remaining tickets will be available at TomatoFest.
The winning raffle ticket will be drawn at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9, during the TomatoFest.

Sherwood Inn to host Seafood Jazzfest
The Sherwood Inn will host its 16th annual Seafood Jazzfest starting at noon Sunday, Sept. 9. Performing will be regional jazz talent such as the Joe Whiting Band with special guests Loren Barrigar and Brian Murphy, Soda Ash Six and John Spillet's Swingin' Jazz All Stars.
A raw bar, barbecue food, jambalaya, seafood gumbo, steamed clams, Hoffman hots, soda, beer and wine will be served at the Inn, 20 E. Genesee St., Skaneateles.

Local farmers markets still open
The Port Byron farmers market is open from 4 to 7 p.m. every Wednesday through Sept. 12 at Schasel Park on Route 31, Port Byron. The market features local vendors, wineries, weekly chicken barbecues, monthly entertainment and bake sales.
The Auburn farmers market is open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday through Tuesday, Oct. 30, on Genesee Street. In addition to fruit and vegetables, the market features honey, cheeses, buffalo meat, fresh breads, cookies and whoopie pies.
The Moravia farmers market is open from noon to 6 p.m. every Thursday through Oct. 25 in the Kinney Drugs parking lot, 130 Main St., Moravia. The market features fruit, vegetables, buffalo meat, honey, baked goods and samples from area wineries.
