Frost heats up Falcon Park

AUBURN - It's not often that a team spends seven innings trying to overcome a strikeout, but at Falcon Park on Sunday, that's what the scenario was for the Auburn Doubledays.

After both teams spent three innings not allowing any hits, Jamestown right fielder Bryan Peterson struck out swinging on a Marc Rzepczynski pitch in the fourth, but catcher Chris Haupt dropped the strike and recovered to make the throw to Manny Rodriguez at first base for the seemingly routine out.

Rodriguez, however, missed the throw and the ball rolled into the right field corner. As Shawn Scobee hustled to retrieve the throw, Peterson made his way around the bases to score on the unusual play.
