Chiefs defense shuts out Tioga

Defenders Lewis Morse, Dylan Parmenter, Tony Rejman and goalie Ed Richter shut down the Tioga offense as the Southern Cayuga boys soccer team opened its season with a 6-0 shutout victory on Tuesday.
Sean Driscoll and Mike Miller had two goals apiece for the Chiefs, Liam Riley and Tony Brown-Rejman each scored once and Casey Underwood supplied three assists.

Southern Cayuga (1-0) travels to Candor Thursday.

BOYS GOLF

Fayetteville-Manlius 197, Auburn 203

Ryan May shot an even par 35 for the Auburn boys golf team in the loss at Woodcrest Country Club on Tuesday.

Sean Hogan shot a 40, James Cutillo carded a 41, Steve Dec had a 43 and Bob Dushantinski rounded out the scoring with a 44.

Auburn (0-2) plays at Westvale Country Club in Camillus today, to face West Genesee, Rome Free Academy and Utica Proctor.

BOYS SOCCER

Spencer-Van Etten 7, Moravia 1

Spencer-Van Etten out-shot the Blue Devils 26-11 and had the advantage in corner kicks 7-2 in Moravia's season opener.

AJ Rouse grabbed five saves in the first half and the Blue Devils were down just 3-0. Dylan Turner added one save in the second half. Justin Stanton scored the lone goal on a pass from JT Badman.

Moravia (0-1) is at Trumansburg, Thursday.
