SYRACUSE - The former treasurer of the Syracuse Bowling Association pleaded guilty Monday to stealing more than $60,000 from the organization.
Linda Stachnik, 51, pleaded guilty to second-degree grand larceny, admitting she took $60,339 from the organization over a six-year period. Onondaga County Judge William Walsh promised a sentence of probation in order to allow her to make full restitution.
Assistant District Attorney Robert DeMarco blamed the thefts, which occurred from 2000-2006, on greed and asked for some jail time to punish Stachnik.
