Dr. Alanson A. Quigley, a retired dentist residing at 14 Owasco St., was struck by a carriage last evening driven by a young man and the wheels on one side of the vehicle passed over the man's legs.

A 15-foot canoe believed to have been constructed 200 years ago by Iroquois Indians, has been brought up from the bottom of Lake Como, in Cayuga County at Dresserville. Ralph Ives of Binghamton dislodged the Indian relic by diving with ice tongs.

As part of an ongoing effort on the park system, city workers are now examining Pomeroy Park. While still in the planning process, Parks and Recreation Director William Cowmey said he plans on using city workers to fix up the park.
