An early morning ceremony was performed at St. Mary's Church Wednesday by the Rev. Smyth when Miss Anna Hickey became the bride of Peter Begley of Pennsylvania. The bride is a well-known and popular young lady of Auburn. The bridesmaid was Miss Alice Graney of Auburn, and the best man was John Doldt of Boston.

Next month, construction crews will begin work on Cayuga County's first dialysis center. Patients could be using it by early next year. Monday, the city gave final approval for the construction of the center on the corner of Nelson and Seymour streets. Ending months of discussion, the OK came from the Planning Board and the Zoning Board of Appeals.

As they poured their first samples of Treleaven Dry Riesling at noon Sunday for New York State Fair patrons, Kim Shevalier and Donna Goddard agreed that it was good to be back. King Ferry Winery, where the two women work, has been absent from the fair's Wine Court for a few years while winery owners Peter and Tacie Saltonstall concentrated on other business ventures. They opened two shops, one at Prime Outlets of Waterloo in Seneca County, and the other in downtown Skaneateles. But this year, they decided, it was time to return to the fair, to push their Chardonnays and Rieslings to the more upscale fairgoers. Shevalier said the sales from $6 to $26 a bottle that generate from the tastings are great, but the winery's presence at the fair is mainly for exposure.
