AUBURN -- A Syracuse man was sentenced to 6 years in state prison for the felony of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance in Cayuga County Court Thursday.
Charles N. Vaughn, 32, of 127 Richardson Ave., Syracuse, and currently held at the Onondaga Correctional Facility Jail, was sentenced to six years in state prison, 2 1/2 years in post-release supervision, and $425 restitution for selling crack cocaine to an undercover police officer on June 10, 2006.
He was also recommended to the Department of Corrections' Comprehensive Alcohol and Substance Abuse Treatment Program.
"You have an addiction that has not only sabotaged you personal life, but also the lives of your children," Judge Thomas Leone said to Vaughn.
Vaughn pleaded guilty to felony of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance in June after declining a plea bargain offer and opting for trial.
He asked Leone to shorten his post-release supervision based upon parole time remaining from a previous felony attempted robbery conviction in 1994 for which he was sentenced to five to 15 years in state prison.
