I see a mailman in Syracuse was out on disability and was working and collected over $400,000. There should be a number in the newspaper that we could call when we see people that are supposed to be disabled and they're working.
“Band Geeks,” as you call us, can do more than just march around with an instrument/flag and rifle. All you other “sports” do not have to memorize 75 drill sets, all your flag routine and music for all the songs, for thousands of people.
The thing that is so disturbing about The Citizen, is not that they print Murray Lynch's letters promoting pure communism, sacrilegious treatment of Jesus and God, but that we the public are not allowed to expose, rebut and confront Murray's letters. Why doesn't he move to Cuba.
After reading Mr. Cosentino's excellent article on the Home Depot fiasco, there is no doubt in my mind, and hopefully the citizens of Auburn, that Lattimore and Dempsey must be voted out of office.
I'm wondering if The Citizen, our local paper, could open up one day a week to help the unemployed run advertisements about their experiences we each have. Maybe some employer might notice that.
What's with all these light up signs at all the schools in Auburn that are on all night? What a waste of taxpayers money.
Maybe to a simple mind, property that is maintained and pays significant taxes (GE/Powerex) is an eyesore, but not to the informed. The buildings contain part of the decontamination equipment and will continue to store the core samples from the test wells until the EPA releases a final determination as to the status of the project.
The new football season is almost upon us. I think The Citizen should run a poll having its readers vote on who is their favorite NFL team.
At one time cars were for the purpose of providing transportation but today they are also toys for adults who have the brains of children and shouldn't be driving.
To the Cayuga County Legislature: Who do you represent - the views of Governor Spitzer or the views of the people of Cayuga County, who live in the Cayuga Indian land claim. No sovereign nation, no reservation!
About the Little Caesar's in Auburn: It was mentioned two weeks ago on Rick and Julie on Channel 9 News, about the guitar-playing kids.
It gives me great pleasure to see the sheriffs patrolling in Owasco. Keep up the good work, Dave!
Get ready for another jump in the school taxes next month, but it will be worth it to keep your kids in school.
How about all those wannabes walking around with military clothing and ball caps. Join the military first!
To all the moms and dads that are dropping off and picking up their kids at Owasco school, let's keep this area nice and clean and not park on the grass.
Just think, soon I'll be at the age to go out welfaring and collect all the freebies like my grandmother, my grandfather, my mother, my father did.
Anybody, and I do mean anybody, but Hillary Clinton for president.
In my opinion, if they are going to have the city council meetings on television, why don't they check out their microphones? You can't even hear what the people are saying at the podium.
I just wonder what Bible college Mr. Lynch graduated from. Interesting to find out, wouldn't it be?
Cayuga County and Auburn's way to get more tourist business is to raise taxes on motel rates, restrict the kind and time motor homes and trailers can park in the city, and raise parking fees on all other vehicles.
The people who are crying about a boot being placed on their car for non-payment of tickets are probably ones that are not paying their tickets.
I don't think Lyme disease is President Bush's problem. The war in Iraq is his problem.
Merchants, how about leaving customers parking places in front of your businesses?
