Frontenac Park in Union Springs will host a softball tournament, antique boats, specialty autos, food, music and crafts for the family from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Port Byron to get $20,000 state grant
The village of Port Byron will receive a $20,000 state grant to improve government building energy efficiency projects.
The combined savings in energy expenses is expected to be more than $3,000 each year, according to a press release from state Sen. Michael Nozzolio's office.
The grant was crated from the federal Petroleum Overcharge Restitution funds established in the 1970s and '80s.
Canalway contest deadline extended
The deadline for the Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor photo contest has been extended to Sept. 14.
Contestants are invited to submit photos that capture the beauty, history, people or character of New York's canals and nearby communities. Photos must be taken from within the National Heritage Corridor, which includes the Erie, Oswego, Cayuga/Seneca and Champlain canals.
