Montezuma will celebrate Community Days on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
The event will begin at 4 p.m. Friday with a classic barbecue by the firemen including hamburgers, hot dogs and sausage.
Festivities continue through the weekend with the prince and princess crowning at 7 p.m. immediately followed with The Fireflies spinning some music until 11 p.m.
Things really get going on Saturday with vendors, crafters, dunk and cake booths and carnival style games among other things.
State troopers will also be on hand, along with the day's other festivities, at 9 a.m. to give a demonstration of the Seatbelt Convincer and Roll-over Simulator.
Mike Riley, town of Mentz historian, will give a historic canal walk at 10 a.m. beginning at Memorial Park, the original site of the Erie Canal basin.
The day will continue with such activities as a pedestrian walk, reptile demonstration by Maxman Reptiles and a ping-pong ball drop.
A parade will begin at 6 p.m. followed by DJ music, karaoke and fireworks at 9:30 p.m.
More of the same will occur on Sunday until 4 p.m. But be sure not to miss the Fire Fighters Challenge at 1 p.m. when they will compete in games like the Midnight Alarm, Bucket Brigade and Water Ball Tournament.
