A performance of a Wells College professor's published choral composition will be heard around the country.
Crawford R. Thoburn's “As Pants the Hart for Cooling Streams,” will broadcast over the weekend of Aug. 25 and Aug. 26 by National Public Radio stations in 35 states.
Thoburn's work, dedicated to the late Wells Chemistry Professor Dieter “Ted” Markees, will be featured on NPR's With Heart and Voice, a weekly program of choral and organ music.
“As Pants the Hart,” which has been recorded by the professional chamber ensemble Madrigali and performed by the choir of the Chatauqua Institute, is one of over 100 choral works by Thoburn that have been published by a dozen different music publishing firms in the last two decades.
With Heart and Voice will air locally on Sunday, Aug. 26 on WXXI 91.5 FM Rochester at 7 p.m. and on WSKG 90.9 FM Ithaca at 8 a.m. The program can also be accessed through live streaming audio. To view the listing, visit http://jrabold.net/radio/2wit.shtml.
