Hannibal Fire Department knows how to party. As the self-proclaimed largest firemen's field days in central New York they don't plan to disappoint crowds this year.
The Hannibal Firemen's Fair and Music Shows encompasses everything that's great about a community carnival, from great food and games to rides, refreshments and tons of fun for all ages.
The festivities will kick off at 7 tonight with an old-fashioned parade complete with marching bands, floats and fire trucks.
This year's parade theme is “Parade of Stars.”
Featured musicians this year include Ruby Shooz, Emerald City and Emerson Drive.
New York premier '50s and '60s oldies band Ruby Shooz will entertain audiences immediately following tonight's parade from 9 to 11:30 p.m. Costume changes, trivia and dance contests make Ruby Shooz not only a retro hit but an incredibly fun experience.
Friday's festivities start at 6 p.m. with rides and concessions. From 7:30 to 11:30 p.m. the band Emerald City will take the stage. A younger band than Ruby Shooz, Emerald City will rock audiences with a more contemporary sound and style. According to a press release, Emerald City specializes in music from 1980s to modern rock, covering bands like Journey and Godsmack.
Saturday, the final day of entertainment, kicks off early with a Kiddee Matinee. From 1 to 5 p.m. children will be able to ride all the rides for only $10. Later, Kiddee Matinee tickets can be used in a chance to win one of 20 new bicycles given away during a special drawing.
A chicken barbecue will begin at 2 p.m. with family-sized chicken dinners, and a wide variety of food will be available throughout the day.
Finally, the firefighters will present Nashville natives Emerson Drive, who is celebrating its latest CD release “Countrified” with its No. 1 hit “Moments.”
As a special treat the band will be performing its own rendition of “The Devil Went Down to Georgia.”
