City council and the county legislators need to go by the law and not have private meetings.

Does the Auburn school district need a full-time, $55,000-a-year plus benefits clerk of the works for its construction project?

Why would you take the extra fire protection from your neighbors? Leave Meridian volunteer firefighters alone to do their job, both departments are needed badly for the size of our community.

Cayuga County should extend tax breaks to Nice and Easy so they can rebuild the gas station in Union Springs. Those of us who refuse to buy from the Cayuga Indian Nation, have no place to buy gas out here.

In my opinion, Cherry Love-Duncan is the best person suited for council. Can she be any worse than the rest of them?

To all the non-NRA Democrat gun owners of a once-free America, Sen. Barack Obama has said he wants to make all semi-automatic firearms and individual sales illegal.

How can some people be so stupid to leave children and pets in a hot car and say they forgot that their kids were in the car? Parents have poor excuses: too lazy or irresponsible.

Told you there would be another accident in front of Hess and MoviePlex. Get a green arrow and traffic light on Route 5 in front of these plazas and sue if you get in an accident with no stoplights/traffic lights.

Don't all of the truckers know that East Genesee Street is under construction. The Thruway is much smoother, even though they drive just as fast on Route 20.

The contractors working on Genesee Street are doing a great job. Let's give them a break and try to find alternate routes until they are done.

Nice article about the football team - that was last years news, time to move on. I, being a student at AHS, and an active participant in the Auburn Maroon Vanguard marching band, think that football shouldn't be the only sport published about, because of working hard throughout the summer.

The Auburn Maroon Vanguard marching band is out there, every Monday and Wednesday, in the sweltering heat for three hours, along with the nine-hour mandatory band camp. We work hard, and are always top ranked every year, for our hard work and dedication, from August to October.

I just wanted to thank the state troopers for going above and beyond for me. Also the lovely woman and her daughter at the Jordan Mini Mart on Friday night.

I approve of the city manager's proposed trash collection plan because I have seen how well it works elsewhere. We should also stop having thousands of tons of trash brought into the heart of the Finger Lakes Region by shutting down the city dump and shipping our trash out.

I think Vice President Cheney should be impeached. This whole thing has turned out to be the biggest nightmare of the USA.

There's something which could really use reform, and perhaps something which could indeed be changed from within the system. I'd like to think so.... "

My son teaches marching band at 2 high schools-their practices are much longer than the football practices. Try walking in a 3 mile parade with a sets of drums on during your heatwave!
