Auburn police have charged three women in connection with a home invasion reported early Wednesday morning on Cayuga Street.
Jaci J. Leonard, 20, of 9 Caitlin St., Auburn; Elicia S. Vitetta, 21, of 56 Grant Ave. Apt. #2, Auburn; and Erin S. Speno, 22, of 8186 Capricorn Dr., Liverpool, all face second-degree burglary and petit larceny charges, the Auburn Police Department reported. The three were being held Wednesday morning pending arraignment in city court.
Police said the three women quickly forced their way into the residence of an 18 year old woman, tried to assault her and then took off with personal property belonging to another person who lives at the home on Cayuga Street. Police said the motive appears to be revenge because the victim is dating an ex-boyfriend of one of the suspects.
The victim was not injured, police said.
After meeting with the victim, police found Leonard and Speno at Leonard's residence, and then found Vitetta during a traffic stop nearby. All three were arrested without incident and most of the stolen property was recovered, police said.
