Community will benefit with my input at city hall

Monday, August 13, 2007 11:01 AM EDT

I would like to thank everyone who signed my petitions making it possible for me to run in the Sept. 18 primary. I would like to also thank those who might have signed if I could have gotten to you. I don't make any promises as to what I will do, but I can tell you this: I will fight my hardest to bring about the necessary changes to this city council so that our community will once again be the people's city. I will step out onto the streets of this city, to see what is needed to bring about life once more to a beautiful center of the Finger Lakes region. I will also insist on more of the streets getting a makeover besides Genesee Street, which there isn't anything on it. As a whole community involved in our city's growth, we will work together in inviting small businesses to come to the downtown area. My vision is to think of our youth, and their future as Auburnians, encouraging them to get involved in the process of restoring Auburn. And, we must all take care of our seniors, for they were the beginners here, who now have become the wisdom! I will fight to represent everyone in Auburn, when I say everyone, I mean all who make up this community no matter what race or what age. So, I am urging all the Democrats in this city, if you want a change that will help to save your city, vote for me, Cherry Love-Duncan on Sept. 18!
Remember, “the city that you save, may be your own!”

Wanted volunteers: all races, all ages, need your help with my campaigning!

Cherry Love-Duncan

" The city needs to start development with the downtown. New sidewalks, tax credits for residential development. A revitalized downtown with the new performing arts centeer and the upcoming Schine theater will stimulate new business in Auburn. In step with industrial development that is happening with tax credits to small industries that will restore an industrial base. So those sidewalks are just the start to a plan to help Auburn which you apparently don't have a clue as to what that vision is and you can only see nothing in the downtown. You need a vision not just a promise to work hard in directions that you are not aware of. Do some homework before you expect to be elected. "

" I will have to totally agree with DD, I think you forgot to add "Hypocrisy", the candidate should also possess Honesty plus some sort of Integrity. "

" Wasn't there a song written for this---Oh Cherry! Anyway--you sound to be one of the most noble of psuedo politicians. Too bad, we've seen the real Cherry Love Duncan. A racist, self serving whiner. "

" I am not sure why you are making the comment that Genesee Street has nothing on it. Do you not realize that street is a gateway of traffic coming into the community not to mention has also been in dire need of repair for quite some time now? If you want people coming into the community to draw to downtown would you not want the entrances to the community to be inviting? After all the arterial bypasses Auburn entirely. "
