It is time that the people of Auburn expect more from their dog owning neighbors. I, personally, have seen enough “piles of poo” to last a lifetime.

I am a proud dog owner and walk my dog all around Auburn many times a day. Each and every time, I have “poop bags” in hand, and always, yes, always, clean up after my dog. I wish that many of the other dog owners in town took the task as seriously. It is the irresponsible people who don't clean up that make it tough for those of us who do!

I have had enough glares from people watching and waiting for me to walk away from my dog's mess! Well, people, not me!

It is time for the city to help. We need to raise the bar. We need to expect people to clean up after their pets. It's a health issue, it's an aesthetic issue, it's a real issue. I say we raise awareness, post more signs, start issuing tickets to people who don't pick up after their dogs.We need dog parks and more trash cans around town!

Citizens can care, but we need the support of the city to help this to happen.
