Stomach bug has Crosby calling off performance
David Crosby has canceled a performance in Aspen, Colo., that was set for next week because he has the stomach flu.
Crosby, 65, was to be part of the “Lyrically Speaking” series hosted by the Aspen Writers' Foundation on Thursday.
The event features performances by musicians who also talk about the songwriting process.
He will reschedule his appearance, his manager, Elliot Roberts, said Friday.
Crosby, who received a liver transplant in 1994, performs with Crosby, Stills & Nash and with his son James Raymond in the group CPR.
He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with both the Byrds and Crosby, Stills & Nash.
Gilbert welcomes new baby girl to family
Sara Gilbert has given birth to a baby girl.
The 32-year-old actress, who played surly teenager Darlene Conner on the hit ABC sitcom “Roseanne,” welcomed her daughter, Sawyer, on Aug. 2, according to Variety.
Gilbert's publicist, who confirmed the birth, didn't provide further details.
The actress also has a 3-year-old son, Levi, Variety said.
“Roseanne” ended its prime-time run in 1997.
Recent work by Gilbert includes a recurring role on NBC's “ER.”
Lohan's parent could settle divorce soon
Lindsay Lohan's estranged parents could settle their long-simmering divorce as soon as next week, a judge said Friday.
“My understanding is that we are extremely close to crafting an agreement?” state Supreme Court Justice Robert A. Ross asked attorneys for Michael and Dina Lohan.
John DiMascio Jr., who represents Michael Lohan, said after an hourlong closed conference involving the couple and their lawyers that “minor points” still preclude a settlement, but he expressed confidence they could be resolved before Aug. 17, the next scheduled court date.
Neither DiMascio nor Dina Lohan's attorney, Warren Quaid, would discuss any details of the proposed accord.
The Lohans were close to an agreement on a divorce settlement in 2005, but that deal collapsed while Michael was serving a prison term for drunken driving, brawling with his brother-in-law and other charges.
He was released in March and entered a Christian-based drug and rehabilitation center in West Babylon.
