AUBURN - Weaver Machine and Tool edged out Casler Masonry 3-2 on Wednesday in the first game of the best-of-three Auburn Pony League championship series.

Terry Daniels paced Weaver with a pair of hits, Tom Herbert and Stephen Bennett each doubled and Jack Burgmaster singled.

Justin Valentino, Herbert, Burgmaster and Bennett each pitched for Weaver Machine.

For Casler, Brandon Delf and Spenser Lincoln each had two hits and Brian Cunningham had a single. Jonathan Bell and Trent Jackson were on the mound for Casler.

Giuseppe's downed Trombley's 6-2 to even the best-of-three championship series and force a winner-take-all contest tonight.

Winning pitcher Steve Komanecky hurled a complete game three-hitter with six strikeouts.

On offense, Zach Cousineau and Zach Ladouce each had two hits, Tim Daniels, Justin Davis, Brendan Pfeifer, Mike Finizio and Komanecky each had hits.

For Trombley's, Mike Granato, David Jacobs and John Fiermonte each had hits. Fiermonte and Luke Christiantelli were on the mound.

Auburn Jr. Olympic Softball

The Angels nipped the Red Sox 6-5 to win the 11-12 division championship. Kristen Scala, Alexas McBride and Danielle Feocco were on the mound for the Angels.

Scala, Kaylee Monroe (double), Brianna Engle and Marie Buck were praised for their play.
