Benedict floors wins team event
Benedict Floors rolled a 3,535 handicap score to capture the team event in the Auburn United States Bowling Congress Men's Championships at Rainbow Lanes.
C.J.'s Pub (3,477) was second, followed by Byrn's Trophies (3.471), Locastro's (3,437), Rainbow Lanes No. 2 (3,412), Pidgeon/Above All Construction (3,405), Sunset Restaurant (3,403), Elbridge Fire Dept. (3,384), DB's (3,371), USBC Directors (3,370) and Strike One Pro Shop (3,364).
Scratch winners to be announced soon
In the handicap doubles at King Ferry Lanes, Brian Richardson and Kevin Mead (1,368) have the lead after the opening weekend.
In the scratch division, Chris Plis and Gary Sutton (1,287) are in first place.
Mead rolled a 774 in handicap singles to take the lead, and also leads in handicap all-events with 2,119.
Entries still open for city tourney
The 72nd annual Auburn United States Bowling Congress Men's Championships continue at King Ferry Lanes with the singles and doubles events. Remaining squads are: March 9 (6:30 p.m.) and March 10 and 11 (10 a.m., 2:30 p.m.).
Entry forms are at all area bowling centers. The doubles and singles cost $80.

Women's annual meeting March 11
The annual meeting of the Auburn USBC Women's Bowling Association will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, March 11, at Polish Falcon Lanes. All members are encouraged to attend.
There will be elections for vice president, sergeant-at-arms and director (3). Anyone interested in those positions may call Ann Fenton (923-2180) or Joan Ashby (252-2987). Prize money for the city tournament will be distributed at the meeting.
700 Club Trios is March 18
The 700 Club Trios Tournament will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 18, at Cedar House Lanes. It's limited to the first 18 teams.

The Auburn USBC bowling/golf tournament, made up of two-person men, women or mixed teams, will be May 19 and 20.
Bowlers will compete in a three-game, best ball competition the first day at Cedar House Lanes with squads at 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
Golf follows the next day at Lakeview Golf and Country Club, consisting of a two-person scramble with a 12:30 p.m. shotgun start. Golf includes cart, skins game and an awards dinner.
Each team must have a member in good standing with the USBC, and the event is open to the first 60 paid teams.
The cost is $150 per team.
