Police said Wednesday night they expected to file charges against the driver in a vehicle collision early that morning
Alcohol appears to be a factor in a crash that sent driver, Keith E. Titus, and his three passengers to the hospital, police said.
The Auburn men were riding in a 1999 Chevrolet Crew Cab pickup truck early Wednesday morning when the truck collided with a large tree near 31 S. Lewis St. in Auburn, police said.
Titus, 27, of 33 Pulaski St., was listed Wednesday in fair condition after being airlifted to Univeristy Hospital in Syracuse. As of this morning, he was no longer a patient there, a hospital official said.
Richard J. Walters, 39, of 14 Frederick St. Apt. 2, remained in serious condition this morning at University Hospital.
James B. Hobby, 27, of 31 Grover St. Apt. 3, also was in fair condition Wednesday but is no longer at University Hospital.
Reginald C. Townsend, 35, of 42 Logan St., was treated and released from Auburn Memorial Hospital on Wednesday.
Auburn Police Department responded to the crash. A few officers heard the impact while patrolling several blocks away and alerted 911 operators of the incident at 2:45 a.m. Wednesday.
They are continuing the investigation.
