Thanks to all for interest in book, autism awareness

Monday, August 6, 2007 11:05 AM EDT

Please accept my gratitude for the support of your newspaper.
Your writers did an outstanding job of telling my son's story and supporting my efforts to raise autism awareness. I'm especially grateful that you got the announcement regarding my recent book signing at the Fingerlakes Mall inserted on such short notice.

The signing was a success - I think we set a new record there, thanks to Diane LaRue, the event coordinator. I also met a lot of good people who came to see me as a result of your announcement.

It felt good to be surrounded by many who share my perspectives and vision.

There are strides being made in the improvement of the quality of life for individuals with autism and their families. This, in part, is the result of greater societal involvement, caring, understanding and support.

I cite, as examples, the merchants who have made my book available locally: Yesteryears in Auburn, where over 20 copies have sold, Creekside Books in Skaneateles, Borders in the Carousel Mall, and Doug's Market in Auburn, all of whose combined support continuously exceeds expectations.

Please extend my heartfelt thanks also to those who've read my book.
