Quill has always done what's best for people

Quill for mayor.
In response to Jerry Morgan's recent tirade over Mike Quill, I would like to use a phrase often uttered by Col. Sherman Potter on “MASH,” “Horseapples!”

In other words, Jerry, as usual, is full of it.

He's never happy with anyone or anything, all that comes out of his mouth is whining and complaining.

To the best of my knowledge the contracts with the fire and police are negotiated by the whole council along with the city manager and lawyers on both sides.

So why blame one man for doing what is best for his people at that time. To me that is the sign of a great and caring leader.

Mike had a great career of more than 30 years with the Fire Department and did a fine job, so back off Jerry and for once in your life grow a brain and look at the bigger picture. Auburn needs new blood and new leaders in order to survive in the near future.

This can be done with a five person council who is willing to work together under a man who “knows” how to lead.

Mike Quill is an old friend of mine of 45 years and has my utmost confidence and support now and in the future.

In closing I would urge all the voters to sit back and look at what we have in charge at city hall now and what is possible in the upcoming election.

" Well Mr Ostrander is this is the best of your knowledge you need to pratice what you preach. Contracts are not negotated by the council. They are done by the city manager and the corporation council and reps from the union. However, even with that said, i want the public to know that the 15 man minimum was Mike Quill's idea. He is the one that sold the idea to the council and encouraged them to accept the terms. Mike Quill convinced the city manager that any costs to the city could be absorbed by negotiating medical insurance. We all know this never happened. It is admiral that you would stand behind your friend of 45 years, however, Mike Quill is no leader. He wasn't even qualified to respond to fires. If you would grow a brain you would see that Mike Quill and his friend Bill Jacobs are concerned with one thing, the "Fire Department" I have heard Jacobs make that remark personally. Their actions have also demonstrated that they are not concerned about the average taxpayer. They are not concerned about the police, sewer, street, parks, sanation departments, their actions have already demostrated that. This city cannot afford Mike Quill or any fire fighter in an elected position. Finally, I want to know, if Mike Quill was so qualified to lead this city, why then was he the very last choice for the Democratic Party? If he is as great as you claim he would have been the first choice. So save me the dramatics, Mike Quill was slected because everyone else told Katie Lacey NO! That is the bottom line "
