Auburn management has signed Ben Egan to do the catching for the Auburn team in place of Jimmy Henderson and Steve O'Rourke will take the place of McCallum in the short field. Egan was a catcher on the Seneca Falls team early this season.

Mrs. Grace Sutton, 52, of Cayuga, was received today in Auburn City Hospital suffering a fractured left arm and lacerations of her head and face. Mrs. Sutton was reported to have been attacked and bitten by a mule. Her condition was fair.

Careful planning by Seneca Falls businesses appears to have staved off potentially serious consequences of a two-day-old Teamsters strike that has crippled the operations of America's largest package delivery service. From post offices to retail package delivery outlets, workers reported only a slight increase in traffic today. Meanwhile, county businesses, schools and Geneva General Hospital were cautiously optimistic about their ability to maintain normal operations.

It's not quite the retirement he planned on, but former Port Byron Superintendent James DeRusha doesn't mind being back in school for a little while. DeRusha will take over as interim principal for Southern Cayuga High School until that district can find a new junior/senior-high leader.
