A man who was beaten so seriously that he required treatment at an area hospital was also issued a ticket for disorderly conduct for taking part in the fight, police said.
The Auburn Police Department said that after being dispatched to Washington Street in the area of Clark Street for a report of a disturbance at about 9:40 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, officers found Jeremy R. Hunt, 26, of 2232 Dublin Road, Fleming, suffering from serious head injuries.

Police said Hunt had been struck in the head several times with a skateboard during a disturbance that began with an exchange of words between several people. Hunt was later transferred to University Hospital in Syracuse for further treatment.

Police charged William P. Aldrich, 21, of 34 Washington St., Apt. 2, Auburn, with second-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

Charged with disorderly conduct for their part in the incident, police said, were Hunt; Dixie L. Glenn, 44, of Washington Street, Auburn; and Clotilde M. Lopez, 40, of 39 Washington St., Apt. 2, Auburn. The people charged with disorderly conduct were issued appearance tickets, police said.

" Since when is defending yourself illegal? I think the police actually enjoy writing tickets, like actually take pleasure in it. "
