For the 13th year, the public is invited to King Ferry to celebrate the wheat harvest.
Beginning Friday evening at 6 p.m. a community dinner will kick off the Wheat Harvest Festival. Committee member Barb Littlejohn said the night's festivities, which will include entertainment by young musicians and Karen and Joe Lonsky, will last until 9 p.m.
The next morning, however, things get started early with an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast before a parade at 11 a.m. and a number of other activities throughout the day.
“Including the wheat harvest itself,” Littlejohn said.
Pie eating contests, a chicken barbecue, 50/50 raffles, craft demonstrations and a whole lot of fun round out the event.
