Woman faces multiple charges
An Auburn woman was charged by the Auburn Police Department Sunday with allegedly leaving the scene of a property damage accident and driving while intoxicated.
Tonya C. Henry, Apt. 1, of 6 Myrtle Ave., was charged with the vehicle and traffic infraction of leaving the scene of an accident and with two misdemeanor counts of driving while intoxicated.
Police said Henry struck a vehicle parked at Melone Village. She was pulled over on Wright Avenue. Police said her breath test came back with .09 blood alcohol count, .01 over the legal limit.
Business raises $20,000 for MD
Grant Avenue Development raised $20,000 for the central New York Muscular Dystrophy Association after six weeks of fundraising.
The organization operates 31 Arby's Restaurants in the state, as well as additional eateries in Pennsylvania and Virginia, but it's corporate offices are located on South Street in Auburn.
Party to benefit Matthew House
Carol and Peter Maciulewicz will host a cocktail party fundraiser Friday in their Owasco home. Proceeds will benefit the Matthew House of Auburn, a nonprofit home for people who are terminally ill. The party will feature music by “Guys and Dolls” and the Springside Inn will cater.
Also the party will include a silent auction.
Anyone interested in attending or contributing to Matthew House may call 252-2052.
Willard Chapel concert canceled
The noon concert at Willard Chapel, 17 Nelson St., Auburn, has been canceled for today, Wednesday, Aug. 1. Joan Haff will not perform due to an illness in her family.
Barbecue, trap shoot to raise funds
The Falcon Sportsmen Club will have a chicken barbecue and trap shoot from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, at the club, 2947 Turnpike Road in Sennett. The public event will raise funds for the Kids to Conservation Camp Program. For nearly 70 years, the Falcon Club sends children to the state Department of Environmental Conservation's conservation education camps.

Victory planning panel to meet
A committee drafting a comprehensive plan for the town of Victory will meet this month.
The plan will be formed in part from opinions gathered from residents, business people and other interested people who sit on the committee and attend meetings, which are open to the public.
The next meeting will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 21 at the Victory Town Offices, 1323 Town Barn Road.
Bass Pro offers boating courses
Bass Pro Shops Sportsman's Center is offering two boaters safety courses. Ralph Gray will teach class one from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, and Thursday, Aug. 16, at the shop's seminar room above the Fingerlakes Mall food court.
Gray will teach the second class from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25.
Each course is limited to 30 students and there is a $35 fee.
Participants must register at the store's customer service counter or by calling 258-2700.
