Cody Ladisair's two-run single in the bottom of the fifth proved to be the difference in the game, as the Auburn 10- and 11-year-old Little League All-Stars defeated Lockport 5-3 in the semifinals of the Regional Championship on Sunday in Homer.
Auburn will play Brighton today at 6 p.m. in the championship game.
Mike Charles allowed five hits and struck out six in five innings of work. Hunter Charles had two strikeouts in a scoreless sixth.
Trailing 2-0 in the third, Mike Carberry led off the with a double and Dan DeFranco put Auburn on the board with an RBI triple. Mike Charles drove in DeFranco with an RBI fielder's choice. After Lockport manufactured another run in the fourth, the Auburn offense opened up. After a Matt Brooks single and back-to-back-to-back walks, Ladisair put Auburn on top for good with his double.
Brooks finished with two singles for Auburn.
