Get your engines running for a great day of fun, food and fast cars.
The Antique Automobile Club of America's Antique Car Show will be making its way to Emerson Park Sunday for its 35th show in the Finger Lakes region.
The show is open to all kinds of cars, and the best 50 cars will be awarded trophies by the end of the night.
The event will include face painting for children, a chicken barbecue sponsored by the Fleming Fire Department, cars for sale, a flea market and plenty of car dealers with the latest models off the assembly line to spark some interest. Richie Spare will also DJ music throughout the day and announce the event sponsors and trophy winners.
This year's Soap Box Derby winner is also expected to make an appearance.
The AACA will also be delivering Meals on Wheels in antique style. Each retro classic will deliver scrumptious cuisine around various communities. Proceeds from the show will benefit the Meals on Wheels program in Cayuga and Seneca counties.
“We're branching out,” Ed Spedding of the AACA said. “We're getting more members from Seneca County, and even one of our charter members Bill O'Neil is still very active.”
Spedding explained that the group has been revving its engines since 1972.
“It's a pretty good milestone,” he said, commenting on how the group is still going strong within the community and no members are taking a backseat for this event.
“It's the largest in the Auburn area,” he said. “Everyone has a great time.”
