Justin Valentino, Tommy Herbert and Nick Covich combined for six strikeouts as the Auburn Nationals advanced past Olean 9-0 in the quarterfinals of the Section I Championship Tournament in Elmira on Saturday.

Auburn plays in the semifinals today against Batavia at 1 p.m.

Herbert added a triple, double and single for Auburn, Nick Petrosino had two hits and two RBIs, Joe Dyson had two hits and Max Pinchak added one hit.

Austin Duger started things early, working a leadoff walk in the first inning and eventually scoring on a hit-and-run, executed to perfection by Jack Burgmaster.
