Holiday Inn to celebrate 55th year
Holiday Inn Auburn is celebrating its corporation's 55th anniversary with an Auburn tradition. The hotel's representatives will give out birthday cake at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1, at a Doubledays game in Falcon Park. The hotel has been in Auburn for 27 years.

The 1,400 branches across the country and the world are celebrating the birthday.

Casey Park to host youth theater show

The city of Auburn is sponsoring a performance by the Merry-Go-Round Summer Youth Theatre at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1 at Casey Park. Organizers encourage people to bring blankets and lawn chairs.

Music concert to be at Falcon Park

Music will fill Falcon Park, but not the “Star-Spangled Banner.” A sacred music concert will begin at 7 p.m., Friday, July 27, at the stadium. Vocalists and musicians from local churches will perform there.

New BOCES facility to host open house

The Cayuga-Onondaga Board of Cooperative Educational Services is inviting members of the community to an open house event at the new BOCES facility in September.

The open house will be held on Sept. 25, 26 and 27 from noon until 8 p.m. at the brand new campus located at 1879 W. Genesee St. Road in Aurelius.

The event will feature guided and individual tours of the new building, visits to the various campus-based programs, visits to academic classrooms and physical education facilities, exhibits and demonstrations of student work, exhibits of adult education and alternative education programs, and information about distance learning, the day care facility, special education services, and earning GED degrees.

Sept. 25 is designated for consultant committees, business and industry, elected officials and the press; Sept. 26 is designated for current students, parents, alumni and senior citizens; and Sept. 27 is designated for boards of education, teachers, school staff, community agencies and colleges. Members of the community are welcome to attend the event any day if they are unable to during their designated day.
