Pop Warner still accepting players
Auburn Indians Pop Warner is still taking registrations for football players at the Jr. Midget and Midget levels, ages 10 to 15.

These are competitive levels with live kickoffs and punts.

Zonta Club golf tourney is today

The Zonta Club of Auburn's 13th annual Sherri Peter Memorial women's golf tournament will be at Highland Golf Club today.

Registration for the tournament is $65 and all proceeds are used to advance the status of women in Cayuga County.

The tournament will have a two-woman scramble format, flighted by handicap, with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.

Tickets available for PGA Tour event

The Cayuga County Arts Council is selling tickets to a PGA Tour Event to be held at the Turning Stone Resort from Sept. 17 to 23.

Prices vary depending on how many days you plan to attend. Sales will benefit the Cayuga County Arts Council and its projects.

Softball camp has two sessions

Auburn High School will host the annual Auburn Softball Camp in two different sessions.

The first will run from July 23 to July 26 and is for girls entering grades 6 through 9 this fall. The second will run from July 30 through Aug. 2 and is for girls entering second through fifth grades this fall.

Each day goes from 9 a.m. until noon. The cost to register is $40, and there is a $5 discount for each additional sibling that signs up. Bob Lee, coach of Auburn High School's varsity softball team, will run the camp.

Great Race XXX to kick off Aug. 12

The 30th annual Great Race will take place at 9:30 a.m. Aug. 12, at Emerson Park in Auburn. The race is a team triathlon consisting of two-, three-, and four-person relay teams.

Participants can run, bike, canoe or kayak.

The event is open to all ages. Applications are now available at the Auburn YMCA.

Solomon teaching basketball camp

Auburn JV coach Shawn Solomon will be hosting a Girls Basketball Camp from 8:30 a.m. to noon Aug. 27-31.

The camp is open for girls ages 7 to 15.

The fee is $40 for Y members and $80 for the general public. The camp fee includes a pizza party and a camp T-shirt.

Tickets on sale for sportsmen's dinner

The Cayuga County Sportsmen's Club is offering tickets to the annual Sportsmen's Dinner and Raffle on Sept. 14 at the Springside Inn.

Tickets are $100 and the grand prize is $3,000.
