Burgmaster's game-winner cements Red Sox rally

Danielle Burgmaster delivered the game-winning hit as the Red Sox scored eight runs in the final inning to take down the Royals 8-7 in an Auburn Jr. Olympic Softball 11-to-12 Division game on Saturday.
Kelsey Baker scored three runs for the Red Sox while Avery Balk and Danielle Defederico had doubles. Miranda Grant led the defense and Connor Clifford and Lezlie Balk split pitching duties.

Alexas McBride and Kristen Scala pitched for the Royals while Brianna Enge (two hits) and Kaylee Monroe led the offense.

Lil Yankees 10, Cardinals 8

Brittnay Burdick (two hits), Rhiannon Beels, Hannah Scott and Abby Martin led the Lil Yankees on offense while Danni Vuillemot, Bryttnaye Burdick and Jordan Walawender pitched.

Morgan Enge, Courtney Townsend and Shelyn Freeman played well defensively.

For the Cardinals, Sam Walawender, Katie Hansen and Annie Giannone pitched and Connor Coleman and Sarah Belz had two hits apiece.

8-to-10

Lil Orioles 20, Pirates 8

Meghan Dann pitched and drove in four runs with three hits. Also leading the Lil Orioles was Hanna Flaherty (two hits, two RBIs), Emily Nguyen (two hits) and Elizabeth Sherman (two hits).

Flaherty also pitched.

For the Pirates, Maggie Ryan, Anna Butera and Taylor McBain split pitching duties. Carley Ryan and McBain had three hits each and Ryan added two hits.

Dodgers 12, Mets 3

Alli DiVietro homered and Lacey Netti, Allison DiVietro and Hannah Lesch pitched. Chelsea Pettigrass turned a double play for the Dodgers while Leann Anthony tagged out a runner at the plate on a throw from Lesch.

The Mets were led by Maria Wayne (double) and Meghan McConnell. Cara Hickey and Miranda Kilmer pitched and Kelly Hicks turned a double play on defense.

13-to-14

Dolphins 6, Warriors 5

Ali VanGeisen picked up 12 strikeouts and a single for the Dolphins. Brianna St. Clair had a two-run double, Kaitlin Turkett had an RBI single and Jess VanGeisen added a hit.

Shannon Haff struck out eight for the Warriors. Leading the offense was Mikela Anderson (double, single, two runs) and Casey Hicks.

Wolverines 16, Sun Devils 4

Nikki Weaver and Marisa Valentino each went 3-for-3, Emily Haff went 2-for-2 and Jennifer Wilczek doubled for the Wolverines. Valentino, Katie Blank and Haff pitched in the win.

Christina Hyrnyk picked up the loss while Leah Netti (double), Sheena Love (two hits) and Brittany Lawler led the Sun Devils offensively.
