Historical group to host tour
The Skaneateles Historical Society will sponsor its annual Laker Limo historic tour of the village during the Antique and Classic Boat Show next week.
Tours will be held at 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, July 28 and 29. The cost is $10 for the narrated tour that ends with refreshments. On Sunday, July 29, visitors can take a one-hour boat ride at 9:30 a.m. on The Judge and be back in time for the village tour.
Tickets are available at the Creamery or the Skaneateles Chamber of Commerce through Friday, July 27. Saturday and Sunday, tickets will be sold at the park near the gazebo, where the tour begins. For details, call Karlene Miller at 685-3073 or 496-2340.
Curious Moon to hold art class
The Curious Moon Art Emporium will hold classes in hand painted floor cloth from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, July 28 and 29, at the gallery on Main Street in Fair Haven. The class will be taught by Judy Loftus.

Boyle Center plans fall foliage trip
The Boyle Center is planning a fall foliage trip to the Smoky Mountains and Biltmore Estate from Oct. 7 through 13. This will be a seven day and six night trip that includes 10 meals, lodging, a guided tour of the Smokey Mountains and three shows: “The Miracle,” “Black Bear Jamboree” and “Back to the '50s,” as well as a full-day at the Biltmore Estate, Dollywood, Harrah's Casino and more.
Cost is $709 per person, and the trip is open to all. To make a reservation, contact Maggie Wells at the Boyle Center at 253-6178. The sign-up deadline is Wednesday, Aug. 1.
Frontenac to offer FLAGS event
The third event of the FLAGS at the Frontenac summer series will be presented at 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, at the Frontenac Museum, 178 Cayuga St., Union Springs. Artist Kari Ganoung Ruiz will discuss mural techniques and unveil her recently completed mural, which incorporates the original 1840 jail cell doors of Union Springs.

Senior group plans trip in October
The Owasco-Melrose Seniors are planning a trip to Victorian Cape May, Smithtown and Atlantic City for three days, from Oct. 22 through 24. Included will be transportation, lodging, breakfast and dinners, trolley tour, visits to Physick Estate and two Victorian mansions, time for shopping and a stop at the casinos in Atlantic City, drivers gratuity and a few extra goodies.

Heritage Corridor to hold contest
The Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor announces its second annual Erie Canalway photo contest. Photographs must be taken within the boundaries of the National Heritage Corridor which is comprised of the Erie, Oswego, Cayuga/Seneca, Champlain Canals and surrounding communities. The deadline to submit entries is Aug. 17.
