Owners of property on the east side of the lake are complaining because of the annoyance caused by trespassers, especially on Sundays. Cottagers in the vicinity of Long and Burtis points say despite warnings and sign boards their land is being used almost as public property.

Classes in swimming and life saving sponsored by the Cayuga County Chapter of the American Red Cross will be resumed at the Pumphouse on Owasco Lake beginning Monday, Aug. 11. Morillo D. Smith and Glenn F. Mosher will conduct the classes.

Continuing the legacy of the first women's rights convention in 1848, Seneca Falls staged its annual Convention Days Friday through Sunday. It was in mid-July 154 years ago that Lucretia Mott, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Martha Wright, Mary Ann McClintock and Jane Hunt first met during a tea party that would lead to one of the seminal events in the fight for human rights since this country's founding.
