‘Full House' star gets hitched Vegas style
Jodie Sweetin, who starred on TVs “Full House” for eight seasons, is a new bride, a celebrity Web site reported Friday.
Sweetin, 25, exchanged vows with Cody Herpin, 30, last Saturday at the Little Church of the West, a Las Vegas Strip wedding chapel, CelebTV.com said, citing a marriage certificate from the Clark County recorder's office.
The Associated Press was attempting to reach a representative for the actress.
Sweetin played middle daughter Stephanie Tanner on “Full House.” She was married for four years to a Los Angeles police officer.
50 Cent sues Internet game over character
Rapper 50 Cent sued an Internet advertising company for $1 million Friday, claiming it illegally used his image in a game where the player pretends to shoot him.
The game, called “Shoot the Rapper,” shows 50 Cent walking back and forth in an ad across the top of a Web page while the viewer is encouraged to shoot him by aiming and clicking with the mouse, court papers say.
A successful shot results in a misty cloud of red, and the viewer is then directed to another Web page where the ad firm's client sells goods and services, according to the lawsuit.
The rapper's lawyer, Peter Raymond, says the game doesn't use 50 Cent's name, but “it looks like him, and there's no doubt the character is intended to be him.”
The lawsuit names Traffix Inc. of Pearl River, N.Y., as the defendant. A lawyer for the company, Ezio Scaldaferri, said he had not been served with the papers and could not comment.
Lohan turns herself over for May drunk driving
Lindsay Lohan turned herself in to face charges of driving under the influence in connection with the Memorial Day weekend hit-and-run crash that sent her into rehab.
Accompanied by her attorney, the 21-year-old actress surrendered at the Beverly Hills Police Department Thursday afternoon to be fingerprinted and photographed, Officer Brian Ballieweg said.
Lohan's blood-alcohol level at the time of the crash was above California's 0.08 percent legal limit, Ballieweg said. He wouldn't disclose how high it was. She is also faces a misdemeanor charge of hit and run, he said.
Lohan was released on her recognizance. A court date was scheduled for Aug. 24. A message left early Friday with her publicist was not immediately returned.
Lohan and two other adults were in her 2005 Mercedes SL-65 convertible when she lost control and crashed into a curb and shrubs on Sunset Boulevard on May 26, police said.
