Bardreau competing at U-14 hockey camp
Cole Bardreau, 13, of Auburn is attending the USA Ice Hockey U-14 National Developmental Camp in Rochester this week.
The week-long session provides many of the country's finest young players with concentrated on- and off-ice training and instruction, as well as the chance to compete against other top players from their age group.
Bardreau has played for the Auburn Ice Hawks, the Syracuse Stars and most recently, the Rochester Monarchs.
He also plays AAA spring hockey for the Front Row Sports Devils from Thorold, Canada.
Bardreau is the son of Scott and Debbie Bardreau.
Donohue earns All-American honor
Kim Donohue, daughter of former Auburn resident Tom Donohue and granddaughter of Auburn resident Richard Donohue, recently was named an All-American at Southern Methodist University's elite summer cheerleading program in Dallas, TX.
Union Springs to host football camp
The 10th annual Union Springs Football Camp will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Aug. 7-10 at Union Springs High School.
The cost is $60 and is open to any Union Springs or Southern Cayuga football player in grades four to 12.
Deadline for registration is July 31 and late registration costs $70.

Great Race practice every Wednesday
Canoe and kayak practice for the annual Great Race are taking place at 6 p.m. every Wednesday at the sailboat launch in Emerson Park.
Both the long and short courses are offered, and experienced people will be there to give advice and tips.

Auburn School District has scheduled sports physicals from 8 to 9:30 a.m. from Aug. 6 to 9 at the Auburn High School Health Office. Students can enter the building on the north side of the school.
Aug. 6 and 7 are reserved for boys. Summer school students are welcome to come on Aug. 6 as well. Football players should on the 6th, while all other boys should come on the 7th. Aug. 8 is reserved for girls who play field hockey, cross country and swimming. All other girls should report on the 9th.
All students must bring a signed 75D form from their parent or guardian.
The forms can be found on www.auburn.cnyric.org, or can be picked up at the Athletics Office.
Zonta Club tourney set for Monday
The Zonta Club of Auburn's 13th annual Sherri Peter Memorial women's golf tournament will be at Highland Golf Club on July 23.
Registration for the tournament is $65 and all proceeds are used to advance the status of women in Cayuga County.
The tournament will have a two-woman scramble format, flighted by handicap, with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.
