Imagine this: The permeating aroma of fine cuisine as it engulfs the room in a mushroom cloud of scent designed to make your mouth water.
The Taste for Community Action fundraiser will lure patrons in by their noses and then they'll refuse to leave because of their tastebuds.
The Cayuga/Seneca Community Action Agency will be hosting it's 12th annual Taste for Community Action tonight, at the Holiday Inn with the distinct purpose of raising support for its numerous community-based programs, generally raising around $12,000.
The event also acts as a venue for local wineries and eateries to display their finest. Taylor Price and Chris Bauso will entertain on guitar and vocals.
Over past years the agency has seen more than 500 people attend this event, according Mindy VanLieu, financial advisor at the agency.
All participants, concluding the event, are welcome to vote for their favorite restaurant and/or winery, where a plaque will then be presented to the winning display by the action agency.
“It's just a fun way to support the agency,” VanLieu said.
Last year's winners were: Favorite display, Holiday Inn; Favorite restaurant, Lasca's; Favorite winery, Dr. Frank Vinifera Wine Cellars.
