Gavin Gleason pitched a complete game and struck out seven as APD defeated ACU 9-6 in Game 1 of an Auburn Babe Ruth League doubleheader on Saturday.

Leading the offense was Nate Kayn (two hits), Steve Titus, Joel Handley and Sam Kayn.

For ACU, Chris Catino (two hits), Zack Kalabanka (two hits), Nick Bolak and Chris Anderson led the offense while Chris Anderson got the loss.

APD 7, ACU 6, Game 2

Nate Kayn helped APD sweep a doubleheader, pitching seven strong innings. Jared Humphrey got the save.

Nate Kayn, Sam Kayn, Cody Cotrell and Steve Titus led the APD offense.

Leading ACU was Zack Kalabanka (three hits), Liam Grasko (two hits), Trevor Doan, Chris Anderson, Matt Festa, Chris Catino and Brandon Bozek.

PONY LEAGUE

Weaver Machine 10, Auburn Credit Union 3

Justin Valentino hit a three-run home run while Terry Daniels had an inside-the-park homer for Weaver. Tom Herbert and Alex Bergmaster also added two hits apiece while Stephen Bennett, Paul Clark and Daniels combined for eight strikeouts.

For ACU, Nick Adams and Brandon Noga combined on six strikeouts. Victor Martinez homered while Adams tripled and doubled.

Michaels & Smolak 20, Casler Masonry 10

Ted Herbert (triple), Matt Hesse, Jason Strazzere (double), Nick Covish (triple, double) and Joe Herbert led Michaels while Herbert, Richard McConnell and Hesse combined for 10 strikeouts on the mound.

For Casler, Brandon Deff (two triples), Alex Herring (two doubles), Brian Cunningham and Casey Komanecky had two hits each. Komanecky, Trent Jackson and Jon Bell combined for eight strikeouts.

BOYS AND GIRLS LEAGUE

Coleman Chiropractic Blue Jays 14, Byrne Dairy Mets

Steve Osborne had the game-winning hit and Liam Schultz doubled for the Blue Jays. Also leading the offense was Emma Nolan, Rose Morabito, Ben Morabito and Ali Bolak.

For the Mets, Noah Decker had three hits and Adam Lupo and Cameron Hodson each had four hits.

Kellan Fedigan led the Mets defensively.

Daddabbo's Indians 20, Fingerlakes Dermatology Red Sox 19

Matt Reed supplied the game-winning single for the Indians in extra innings. Laiken Wilson had four hits while Macey Wilson, Olivia Amoia and Austin Coff had three hits each. Josh Kowaleski led the defense.

For the Red Sox, Isaac Colella, Ben O'Hearn and Kaiden Tubbert had four hits apiece. Taylor Lansbury added three hits.

Daut's Braves 24, New Beginning Home Care Pirates 12

Daut's was led by Emma Butler, John Malandruccolo, James Roeschlaub, Megan Wiseman and Owen Spearing. Defensively, the Braves were led by Griffen Dautrich, Madison Stevens and Lindsey Debois.

For the Pirates, Jack Schattinger and Chris Rusin had three hits while Cassie Klock, Zach Galbally and Madison Schattinger had two hits.

Andrew Bishuk and Nick Schattinger played well defensively.

Byrn's Trophy & Sports Padres 26, Tim's Powerwashing Cardinals 15

Alex Fallon had three home runs, including two grand slams, to lead the Padres. Cutter Johnson and Noah Wojnar had three hits apiece and Paul Fallon added fur hits.

The Padres were led defensively by Jack Canty, Margaret Canty, Cassandra Breault and Sydney Fallat.

Grace Barawick, Ryan Chalupnicki, Katie Basata and Nick Indelacato had three hits each and Bobby Faynor lead the Cardinals' defense.

Rangers 12, Yankees 11

Skyler Sliwka led the Rangers with a home run and a triple. Jacob Kayn had three hits including a triple, while Adrian Brown added a homer.

Rachel Tarby and Braeden Curry led the defensive effort.

Josh Steinbacher had four hits and Jordan Fronzer had three hits for the Yankees. Their defense was led by Jilianne Ervolina and Nate Lupo.
