Judge delays ruling in robbery case
Cayuga County Judge Thomas Leone has reserved decision on the admissibility to a jury trial of statements a teenage robbery defendant made to police, defense attorney Simon Moody said.
A second part of hearing on that question was held in Cayuga County Court Monday.
Ryan Martinez, 18, of 88 Rochester St., Port Byron, maintains that he asked for an attorney during his police interview, Moody said.
Martinez faces several charges related to allegations he and two other teenagers twice tried to rob an Auburn man Aug. 31 of money, including threatening him with what looked like a pistol.
One co-defendant has pleaded guilty.
