Fractured back keeps Diller from b-day show
Phyllis Diller had to cancel a “Tonight Show” appearance celebrating her 90th birthday because she fractured her back - but the comedian still plans to celebrate.

Diller “twisted the wrong way” and caused “a minor injury, some kind of a fracture which is extremely painful,” her manager, Milt Suchin, said Wednesday.

“The doctors say to rest and let it heal. ... She's in great spirits,” he said.

The injury also forced Diller to cancel an appearance this week before the Television Critics Association.

“It's very disappointing,” Suchin said. “She was going to do a standup bit but she really can't stand up properly.”

“She's not immobile. She is functioning normally. She's doing a lot of phoners and interviews,” he said.

Queen not happy about crownless portrait

Annie Leibovitz received an icy stare and a stern response when she asked Queen Elizabeth II to remove her crown for an official portrait.

Footage of the exchange is included in a British Broadcasting Corp. documentary that was filmed as Queen Elizabeth II prepared for her 80th birthday and during her recent visit to the United States.

Snippets of “A Year With the Queen,” which captures the working life of the royal family, were released Wednesday.

Queen Elizabeth II is shown walking into a room in Buckingham Palace - which is cluttered with camera equipment - wearing her crown and her Order of the Garter robes.

Leibovitz tells her: “I think it will look better without the crown because the Garter robe is so ...”

Longoria anything but desperate on wedding day

The endless details were numbing, but Eva Longoria says she kept her cool at her wedding to Tony Parker last week.

“My stylist, Robert Verdi, and everybody around me was like, ‘You're so calm,”' Longoria tells OK! magazine in its latest issue, on newsstands Friday. “I actually don't stress about anything.”

The 32-year-old “Desperate Housewives” actress and the 25-year-old NBA star wed in a civil ceremony in Paris last Friday. The following day, they exchanged vows in a church across from the Louvre Museum and held an exclusive reception at a storied French chateau.

“Every girl dreams of having a beautiful, romantic wedding,” says Longoria. “It was amazing to see it unfold after months of planning. We really wanted to create an experience for our guests. It was about them having fun.”
