Lots going on at Aurora Fest

Aurora Fest 2007 begins Friday at 6:30 p.m. with the Blessing of the Boats Bash at St. Patrick's Church. Be sure to bring an appetite for this kick-off event that features a plethora of food, soda, beer and tons of entertainment and music.
The following events make up Aurora Fest 2007:

Friday

Band Night: Six local bands will rock out from 7 to 10 p.m. at Wells College Athletic Field. Refreshments available. Admission $2.

Scavenger Hunt: Scavenger lists will be available at the Blessing of the Boats Bash. Items must be delivered to judges by 5:15 p.m. on Saturday, at the Wells Athletic Field.

Saturday

Aurora Run: Running starts at 9 a.m. at the United Ministry. Sign up sheets will be at the Blessing of the Boats Bash Friday.

Aurora Swim: This is a new event this year. A competitive swim will take place from the Wells College Dock to the Aurora Inn Dock. Swimmers take off at 10:30 a.m.

Blessing of the Boats: Boats will meet behind United Ministry between 10:45 and 11 a.m.

Taste of Aurora: Guest welcome to wander downtown for goodies between noon and 1:30 p.m.

Kids Game Interlude: Everyone is welcome to participate. Games include Tug O' War, 3-legged race, pie eating contest, classic games and balloons galore. This event will take place on the United Ministry lawn from 2 to 3:30 p.m.

Aurora Fest Parade: Starts at 4 p.m.

Music: Music starts at 5 p.m. on the Wells Athletic Field.

Food: Serving starts immediately after the parade at the Wells Athletic Field, and will continue until the food is gone. Prices will be posted at the venue.

Basketball/Tennis Tournament: Will begin at 5 p.m. on the Wells Athletic Field during the music performances. The event will include tennis and three-man basketball.

Fireworks: Will begin on the Wells Athletic Field around 10 p.m.
