Swimming lessons up and running
Swimming lessons will be offered to swimmers of all ages and levels in three two-week sessions. The first session has begun, but the second session is July 23 through Aug. 3 and the third session is Aug. 6 through 17, at Harris Park, Depot Road Cayuga.
Lessons are 30 minutes and will be held Monday through Thursday with Friday as a rain date. Lessons are sponsored by the Cayuga-Aurelius Recreation Program.
Cost is $15 per child, $20 for two children, $25 for three and more than three children, add $5 per child.

Long-term care session to be held
A free long-term care insurance information seminar will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 12, at the Holiday Inn, North Street, Auburn.
To reserve a seat, call the Cayuga County Office for the Aging at 253-1017.
Dietitian to speak on cancer care
WeCare, a cancer support group in Skaneateles, will host Theresa Shepherd, an oncology dietitian with Hematology/ Oncology Associates of Central New York, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, July 12, at The Creamery, 28 Hannum St., Skaneateles.
Shepherd will speak on healthy food options to try while navigating the common side effects of cancer treatment. There will be a brief discussion of some nutrition controversies and reliable Internet resources for information.
There will also be time for questions and discussion.

Baby sitter training offered by Red Cross
The Cayuga County Red Cross will offer babysitter training from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 14, at the chapter office, 11 State St., Auburn. Cost is $40 per student and includes all materials, lunch and snacks.
The training is available to students age 11-15 years old. Students will learn how to provide safe and responsible care for children, develop leadership and professional skills, learn to earn and save money and gain knowledge of first aid.
Pre-registration is required for this training. To register, call the Cayuga County Red Cross at 252-9596.
Alzheimer's support group to meet
The Office for the Aging's Alzheimer's Community Service Program offers a support group for caregivers providing care to Alzheimer's and other dementias such as Parkinson's disease, Picks disease and other memory loss diagnoses.
The group meets at 4:30 p.m. the third Thursday of every month, at the Christ United Methodist Church on Congress Street in Moravia. The next meeting will be held July 19.
