Justin Valentino homered and allowed two hits in five innings on the mound as the Auburn Nationals defeated Geneva Red 12-5 in the Pony League All-Star Tournament Sunday in Geneva.
Tom Herbert and Nick Petrosino added two hits each for Auburn, while Petrosino gave up two hits on the mound.
Also leading the Auburn attack was Jack Burgmaster, Max Pinchak, Pat LaDouce and Joe Dyson.
Dyson and Ryan Dailey each had great catches in the field.
Auburn American 8, Cato 4
Nate Evangelista, Brandon Delft and T.J. Baranick combined for a three-hitter with 14 strikeouts as the Auburn American All-Stars defeated the Cato All-Stars.
Baranick and Delf added two hits apiece while Mike O'Hearn and Sean McCole had key hits.
Geneva Red 2, Auburn American 1
Kevin DiCola and Delf tossed a one hitter with 13 strikeouts but still picked up the loss.
Matt Jordan led the Auburn offense.
