Each Monday, The Citizen features someone from the Finger Lakes community.
This week, we spotlight Dan Keegan, customer service and sales for adc Cellular & Satellite.
Q. What is the most rewarding part of your job?
A. I think when you come into work and people are happy to see you, and you see a smile on the faces of your co-workers and customers.
Q. What is the most challenging aspect of your job?
A. Probably DirecTV and Verizon sales.
Q. What would be your dream job, and in what part of the world would you be working?
A. I want to be a rock star.
Q. What's the best way to relax after a tough day?
A. To just go home, put on the iPod and listen to some tunes.
Q. What do you like most about the Finger Lakes region?
A. There are lakes everywhere, and there's always somewhere to have fun.
Q. If you had the choice of meeting any three people in the world who would they be, and why?
A. Paul McCartney, because I love his quote, “I am not cool, cool is inspiration.” Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart because he was a genius and the only one allowed to break the rules of music. And John F. Kennedy, because I respect him a lot.
Q. Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
A. Probably in a music recording studio. I think that's what I want to get my degree in.
Q. If you were to win the lottery tomorrow, what's the first thing you'd do?
A. I've thought about this, and I'd move away to disappear for a while, so I don't get calls begging for money.
Q. What would people who think they know you be most surprised to find out about you?
A. I have hand-washing OCD if I shake hands or touch anything I haven't cleaned.
Q. If you were mayor or supervisor of your town/city, what's the first thing you'd change?
A. I'd try to create some events that brought the youth out so they have something to do after 9 p.m. Maybe reopening the Schine's Theater and getting that squared away.
Q. Do you have any special plans for the next few months?
A. To kickstart my business serving eviction notices.
