SYRACUSE - A 17-year-old driver ran a red light and collided with a city bus Friday, sending eight people, including a pregnant woman, to the hospital, police said.

No one was killed.

Police did not release the name of the driver of the car or any passengers.

Five of the 13 bus passengers and three people from the car were transported to area hospitals.

The driver apparently ran a red light and the bus hit the car on the right side at about 4:15 p.m., said Syracuse Police Lt. Joe Cecile. The car was pushed 20 to 30 feet past the intersection, he said.

The 18-year-old pregnant woman was the most seriously injured, but her injuries were not life threatening, Cecile said. No further information was immediately available, police said.

The bus passengers complained of pain, but appeared to have only minor injuries, Cecile said.

The bus had minor front-end damage and was driven from the scene.

The car had to be towed.
