Little Leaguers in need of donations
Donations are currently being accepted for six Auburn Little League players to help raise money for them to attend the “Field of Dreams” Tournament in Cooperstown.

Each player is required to raise $1,050, for a total of $6,300, which covers food, lodging, playing and uniforms.

All donations are asked to be sent to: Mark Covich, 82 Mary Street, Auburn NY, 13021.

Checks must be made payable to CNY Major League Allstars.

Lacrosse alumni game set for Aug. 11

The Auburn Boys Lacrosse program will hold an Alumni Game at noon August 11 at Auburn High School.

All alumni and families are welcome to the both the game and the post-game reception at the Knights of Columbus.

D-days honored for promotions

For the third time this season, the Auburn Doubledays were featured in the top 10 of MILB.com's top 10 promotions of the week.

The most recent honor comes for the Useless Skills Competition, held at tonight's game.

The previously featured promotions were the start of Auburn's Jailbird rivalry series with Batavia, and the Falcon Park Chef Competition.

Father Shamon golf tourney is July 29

The 16th annual Father Shamon Memorial Golf Tournament will be held on July 29 at the Dutch Hollow Country Club.

Entry fees are as follows: $75 for an individual, $350 for a corporate team, $200 for a family team and $130 for mixed couples.

The fees include green fees, a golf cart, food, beverages, dinner and awards.

The deadline to register is July 12.

Forms are available at the Knights of Columbus.

Cayuga Bridge Mile will be held Aug. 3

The Cayuga Bridge Mile will take place at 6:30 p.m. August 3 at MacIntosh Park. The one mile run will take participants through the Village of Cayuga.

Registration for the event begins at 5:30 p.m.

The cost is register is $12 if postmarked by July 20, and only $10 for students and families.

Children's swim lessons begin soon

The Cayuga-Aurelius Recreation Program will be sponsoring swimming lessons in three two-week sessions at Harris Park on Depot Road.

The first session will be held July 9-20, the second from July 23, to Aug. 3, and the third from Aug. 6-17.

Lessons are 30 minutes long and will be held Monday through Thursday, with Friday serving as the rain date.

Registration cost is $15 for children, $20 for two children, $25 for three children, and so on.
