Giannone leads way for Cardinals

Annie Giannone went 3-for-3 and combined with Sam Walawender and Katie Hansen for the win, as the Cardinals topped the Mets 11-5 in an Auburn Jr. Olympic Softball 8-to-10 Division game on Saturday.
Maggie Smith and Mackenzie Haff each had two hits while Walawender contributed a bases-clearing double for the Cardinals.

For the Mets, Ashley Stephens, Lauren Guinnip and Miranda Kilmer had two hits apiece, while Kara Hickey and Kilmer each pitched.

Pirates 8, Dodgers 7

Taylor MacDain, Anna Butera and Alyssa Lawrence combined for the win, while Carly Ryan and Melinda Frink led the Pirates on offense.

For the Dodgers, pitching duties were split by Allison DiVietro, Lacy Netti and Hannah Lesch. Offensively, Maggie Lesch (two hits) and Chelsea Pettigrass led the way.

Lil Orioles 12, Lil Yankees 4

Meghan Dann and Kaitlyn Brewer had three hits apiece and Emily Nguyen and Elizabeth Sherman added two hits each. Brewer and Hanna Flaherty combined for the win.

For the Yankees, Brittany Burdick and Danielle Vuillemot pitched. Burdick, Vuillemot and Emily Serling also added two hits apiece.

11-to-12

Orioles 6, Yankees 5

Erica Fedigan and Aubrey Herbert had two hits apiece for the Orioles while Jenna Stevens and Mary Jane Leja pitched. Taylor Hutchings and Jennifer Ferlenda led the defense.

For the Yankees, Claire Sargent pitched, Abby Diel scored twice and Alyssa Zmarthie had two hits. Ashley Fiduccia led the defense.

Angels 6, Red Sox 5

Brittany Massi, Danielle Feocco and Kristen Scala split pitching duties for the Angels while the offense was led by Mary Buck, Scala, Massi and Kayla Schonmaker. Kacey Jervis played well defensively.

For the Red Sox, Leslie Balk pitched and Meaghan Pinker added a home run.

13-to-14

Warriors 9, Dolphins 5

Taylor Aeresti picked up the win, striking out nine, and Shannon Haff earned the save.

Jenna Hensel (three runs), Mollie Pinker, Mikaela Anderson (three runs) and Angela DeBenedetto (three runs) each had two hits while DeBenedetto added a home run.

Hensel threw out a runner at second base. Impressie defensive plays were made by Christina Granato, DeBenedetto and Anderson while Allison Pettan stole a base.

For the Dolphins, Megan Feocio pitched while Allie VanGiessen led the offense.

Wolverines 18, Sun Devils 5

Katie Blank, Gabby Haff and Marissa Galentino split pitching duties for the Wolverines while Sam Shaheen homered and Haff homered twice.

Galentino went 2-for-3, while Blank and Pisano each went 3-for-3.

Kristina Hrynyk pitched for the Sun Devils, and Brittany Lawler tripled.
