Two Cents

Saturday, July 7, 2007 11:44 PM EDT

I would like to know why they allow Ms. Picciano to come to these council meetings every two weeks and speak her piece about her son. I think these should be settled out of the council meetings, not on television all the time like it is.
No more Owasco Field Days, nothing at the lake, and not enough softball fields for the young girls to play softball at. Auburn has nothing left for its youth, only the bricks of downtown to walk on.

Why hasn't the city of Auburn tried to resolve the phosphorus overflow in Groton with the fish farm on a friendly note without the involvement of the DEC?

When there is just one property cluttered with junk on an otherwise nice looking street, something needs to be done by code enforcement. Just what is it going to take until we see some improvement?

When did the speed limit on North Street and Grant Avenue go up to 50 mph? They either can't read or they're too busy talking on cell phones.

It seems to me the only people that are worried about the Two Cents column are the ones that would be the most likely to run off to jail or prison for any independent research and reporting going on, except on public access, of course. There you can see all kinds of funny business going on.

" Hey Forrest, Do you think she thinks he is an acute angle? Don't be so obtuse. Just think, she may even be Right. "

" Now that the 4th is over, and the police are on alert again for fireworks, let’s put aside the home firework shows. Some people do not realize that by shooting off fireworks sometimes days and weeks after the 4th, wakes up your neighbors. Yes, fireworks are fun and dangerous, but do you think only YOU hear the sounds by the fireworks? The sound carries to your neighbor house, and blocks away. What gives you the right to wake people up in the middle of the night? Most people give way to the sounds on the 4th, but it’s time to stop. Parents you are responsible for your children in the back yard, please be considerate and let your neighbors sleep in peace, and you may even save a finger or an arrest. People please call and alert the police for any unauthorized firework shows. "

" Ms Picciano has a very limited life, and when you spend years defending your sons actions, because he thinks he's above the law and he's proven wrong, what else can amother do? but keep trying to put up a smoke screen and hope some one listens that her son is an angle. "
